Apart from my three years on the SFX editorial team, I have written for Book & Magazine Collector, Computer Arts, Cult TV, Doctor Who Magazine, Elle, Fangoria, Hammer Horror, MonsterScene, Movie Collector, Neo, New Scientist, Psychotronic Video, Record Collector, Scriptwriter, Shivers, Starburst, Total Film, TV Zone, Video Watchdog and The Sunday Times.

My TV work includes The Big Breakfast, The Big Read: Battle of the Books, Central Weekend Live, Loose Lips, Reading the Decades, SF Scene, 3001: A Sex Oddity, Top Ten TV and Ultimate Sci-Fi Top Ten, as well as radio interviews on the Today programme, American National Public Radio and many local stations. As a sideline I have written jokes for both Russ Abbott and Richard Blackwood, as well as working on several film and TV projects.

I played a policeman in the first British independent martial arts film, Insiders (directed by Steve Lawson) and a journalist in the low budget werewolf movie Full Moon Massacre, and I starred as myself in the video for 'Phasers on Stun' by the Scottish indie band Urusei Yatsura (directed by Tony Luke). In 2006 I acted in two more films, as yet unreleased: Mr Blades and Statica. I have also been a contestant on Style Challenge and The Weakest Link...
